Have you ever read a "Dear Baseball" speech? If not you should.
Its amazing the impact a game can make on a persons life. I remember my grandmother sitting on her back deck listening to an AM radio with headphones listening to every Baltimore Orioles game in the 80s wearing the most janky O's hat you can imagine. That however was not the only place she enjoyed baseball. She was at all of our games (our being me and my cousins that were basiclly brothers back then) and what was she doing? What you can imagine a grandmother was doing that wore a janky O's hat and loved baseball did at her grandkids games. The point is when you love baseball you're not bothered by the time it takes to play. You're not bothered by the amount of games it takes to complete a season. You love the magic of game that is Baseball... and I can't explain what that magic is you just know when you see it, experience it and feel it.

Being on the outside of the fence now I cant help to appreciate what my parents, grandparents etc. did to bring this game into my own life. What it has done for me and hope both of my kids will one day look back, remember and appreciate these days the way I do.
Being on the outside of the fence along side other parents that have similar experiences and memories in or around these Diamonds in the Grass is magic all of its own... which is invaluable due to the amount of time we all have to spend together. It is Americas Pastime for a reason.
That was a long winded intro to the pictures from when the Bobcats play Team New England... Sorry

Last thing... I was born in Baltimore and was raised on the O's. I watched Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, Jim Palmer etc play on a field that no longer exists. Cal Ripken Jr. is BY FAR my all time favoite baseball player. So years ago I was in Towson MD (right outside of Baltimore) waiting outside of a diner to have breakfast. I was there with my grandmother, dad and others waiting for our table. While waiting a black Chevy Avalance pulled into the parking lot. When the man got out of the truck and started walking toward the diner... I said "That looks like Cal Ripken" then I said "Thats fucking Cal Ripken" and in that moment I was a kid again seeing my childhood hero walking into a random diner in Towson MD... thats some of the Magic
